Letters from James Chalmers

The following letters from James Chalmers to his son-in-law John Saunders, came to us courtesy of M. Christopher New. Mr. New, author of "Maryland Loyalists in the American Revolution", transcribed these letters from the originals in the Harriet Irving Library, Univ. of New Brunswick, Fredericton NB. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time their content has been seen apart from the originals. Comments in ( ) are not part of the original text and [ ] usually indicates something that could not be read or damage to the original document.
